Do you have a deep understanding and passion for TV shows? Do you feel like you understand tropes more than anyone wants to hear or discuss? Join our team and use your eye for detail to observe, analyze and identify the nuances in video content that no one else sees. As a Content Examiner, you will work with experienced industry experts in an exciting company in the Media and Entertainment industry.

The position can be located in either Santa Clara or Los Angeles, CA.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Philosophy, Sociology, English, Film, or another relevant program.

Primary Skills: Understanding of narrative structures in storytelling and media content and document events and scenes within a title in precise detail.

Pay Range: $65,000 - $85,000 DOQ

This position is open until filled.

Responsibilities

Provide dedicated operational support for classifying new films and TV shows
Research, screen, and annotate films and TV shows
Convey and represent what is objectively meaningful about different forms of emotional events and narration
Gain familiarity with cultural contexts in regions around the world
Work closely with internal teams to execute business and partner priorities
Strong critical thinking skills

Desired Qualifications

Multilingual proficiency
Previous content analysis experience
Familiarity with American media and pop culture
Passion for learning the international film and television industry1-3 years of experience in Standards & Practices or Compliance departments of media companies.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Philosophy, Sociology, English, Film, or another relevant program
Attention to detail and keen observational skills
Independent problem-solving skills
Understanding of narrative structures in storytelling and media content
MS Office skills
2-3 years of experience in one of the following fields preferred:
Media & Entertainment
Journalism or Writing
Social, legal, or educational services
